PIPELINE STRAINERS

Pipeline strainers are used for removing unwanted particulate from pipelines containing gaseous and liquid fluids.  Most of our products are used for water-like fluids, although there are applications for heavy oil, adhesives, paint and all types of industrial slurries.

This particular website illustrates several automated strainer and filter systems.  Automatic strainers and automatic filter systems are used to reduce labor hours otherwise required for accessing and cleaning strainer baskets and filter elements.  The cost effectiveness of an automatic strainer compared to conventional simplex strainers and duplex strainers depends upon many factors, although based upon strictly initial unit cost, pricing is relatively close for flow rates corresponding to 8" and larger sized pipelines.

Simplex strainers consist of a single chamber containing a single strainer basket or filter element.  These are used for applications that have a low percentage of particulate to remove and for applications for which the flow can be interrupted to clean the basket or replace the filter media.

Please refer to our page illustrating simplex strainers for additional information.  You can refer to our simplex strainer website for pricing and specifications.

Duplex strainers consist of two chambers, each containing a strainer basket or filter element.  These are used for applications that have a low percentage of particulate to remove and for applications for which the flow cannot be interrupted to clean the basket or replace the filter media.

Please refer to our page illustrating duplex strainers for additional information.  You can refer to our duplex strainer website for pricing and specifications.
